You have been the pillow I lay my weary soul upon

About This Quote

In the Greek mythology, the god Apollo fell in love with a beautiful mountain nymph named Daphne. In order to win her love, he made her a promise that if she would allow him to take a single branch from the tree that she was hiding among, he would grant her a wish. She agreed and Apollo took a branch from the tree. To the dismay of Daphne, Apollo broke his promise and instead of granting her wish, he turned her into a laurel tree. It has been said that "If you have been awarded with a laurel, it means you have been used as a pillow for someone's weary soul".
